Our Journey

West End Decorators began as a small company based in Dundee, Scotland, focusing on residential properties and private households throughout the city and surrounding villages. Our services cover everything from spraying and hand-finished surfaces to AMES taping and wallpapering.

From the outset, we embraced social media as a key part of our business growth. Rather than simply sharing before-and-after photos, we focused on showcasing and explaining our process in detail. This transparency gave clients confidence by demonstrating the thorough preparation, expert techniques, and attention to detail applied to every project. Our social media presence quickly gained traction, building a strong reputation and driving valuable word-of-mouth referrals.

Within a year, we expanded into larger and more complex projects, including 19th- and 20th-century buildings that require specialized skills and knowledge of traditional materials. Our portfolio now includes a range of commercial contracts such as care homes, listed buildings, and historic mansions.

Growth and Future Plans

A significant milestone was being invited to tender for work at Goodenough College in Central London. This opportunity led to a successful partnership, with projects completed to the highest standard across three of their listed buildings. Our ongoing work with Goodenough College has been instrumental in securing further contracts and establishing our presence in the capital.

As we approach the completion of these projects, we remain committed to expanding our operations in London and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to continue showcasing our skills across contemporary, commercial, and heritage properties, while building a trusted reputation in the capital.

Recent Projects

Goodenough College

Recent projects completed at Goodenough College include London House, William Goodenough House, and 15 Mecklenburgh Square. These properties, all of which are Grade II listed and date back to the early 19th century, have undergone significant refurbishment. Key areas such as reception spaces, common rooms, the bar, and the director’s residence have been carefully restored. Additionally, ongoing projects continue at these locations to enhance and preserve their historic features while adapting them to modern requirements.

This body of work was secured following the successful completion of an initial project for Goodenough College in Scotland, undertaken at The Burn in Edzell—a Grade B listed Georgian mansion built in the late 18th century. The building’s rich history and architectural significance contributed to the establishment of a longstanding partnership, resulting in the company being appointed as the preferred decorating contractor for the charity.

Photographs of these buildings and the work carried out can be viewed on the portfolio page.
